Sustainable building case studies

The City of Melbourne's 1200 Buildings Project commissioned Binary Blue to research and write nine case studies on buildings in Melbourne that had recently retrofitted their buiding to improve energy efficiency.

We did this by interviewing the owner and facilities managers for each building.

Many case studies are unfortunately little more than publicity material for a building organisation. We took a different approach by investigating as deeply as possible, not just the outcomes in terms of efficiencies gained, but also the process that was undertaken to achieve the improvements. This means that owners, architects, engineers and facilities managers who may be considering making improvements to their buildings, can read the experiences of others, and learn from the lessons that emerged.

View the case studies.
