AuSud Journalism project

This is a very exciting project that we are presently project managing.

The University of Melbourne's Centre of Advanced Journalism in association with the ABC secured an Australian Research Council grant to train Sudanese refugees in journalism.

Binary Blue is the project manager. This means:

• developing a 12 week curriculum
• setting up a training blog for the trainees to use as a space where they write their articles
• liaising with the trainers, English language tutors and mentors
• coordinating the trainees on the Saturday afternoon training session.

In 2011 and the first semester 2012, we trained 30 people. In the August semester, the trainees will be responsible for managing their own web site / blog.
